Baltic Duet

Violinist Barbora Valiukeviciute and pianist Anastasija Avdejeva formed a Baltic duet to explore and promote composers from the Baltic region – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Both artists are from Lithuania but came to know each other while studying abroad. The idea to form a duet emerged out of the realization that their regional music forms a significant part of their own identity. Thus, this duet is a tribute to the local musical heritage and an attempt to inscribe ‘Baltic sounds’ as part of European music history.
